How many hearts on this cake?

Standard

I love birthdays! Baked this pink themed birthday cake for my friend who happens to love hearts! Can’t wait until she cuts it to discover the cake is pink too …. I was strictly warned not to add any numbers on the cake to disclose the age, so I thought I’d be a lil’sneaky and just add the same number of hearts instead … you’re not going to start counting now and get me into trouble, are you?? :p

Looks can be deceiving!

If you think you are looking at a picture of doughnuts, then look again …. what you’re really looking at is a cookie shaped like mini doughnuts! Tricked you, didn’t I? smile emoticon Gotta love how deceiving these cookies look! smile emoticon Stumbled upon this recipe on the internet today, and it looked like such fun, so gave it a go straight away. The cookie dough consists of very basic ingredients that takes seconds to put together, and is then piped out into mini rings before being baked … and then starts the fun part when you can let your imagination go wild to decorate!

News Flash: discovered a really nice place for breakfast at Taste Kitchen in Mercato Mall, Dubai. Popped in for breakfast the other day and really enjoyed their ‘Home baked Granola with Whipped Yogurt and Mixed Fruit’ … Had no idea using freshly whipped Greek Yogurt could make such a difference to the dish! Will be going there again soon for lunch, which is when I’ll do my proper review of the place … and judging by the number of people who were walking in at the time, I’m sure I won’t be disappointed! Give it a try!

Midnight Dessert!

Standard

Nutella Oreo Cheesecake is ready to be served …. tomorrow! Have visitors over this week, and how can someone not get a taste of dessert while visiting The Bakealogue right? 🙂 So although the plan was to bake a cheesecake, I changed my mind halfway through and decided to make it as individual desserts! Not only does it look different, but my main aim was to make it finish quicker *evil laugh* … I would not call it a very sweet dessert (as it may look that way) thanks to the plain cream cheese portion mixed with a little lemon juice which balances it out perfectly (don’t go ewwww, try it!!) .. These have now gone into the fridge to chill overnight … oh it’s gonna be a loooong night alrite! Lol ….
