Birthdays are meant to be special ….

It’s no secret I love birthdays as it means a chance to bake and be creative! Here’s what I did for a friends birthday whose two most favourite things in the world are reading books and drinking chai! Put the two together and what do you get? Ta-daa … a book box full of goodies to enjoy with a cup of chai! Goodies include mini chocolate cupcakes and savoury biscuits 🙂 … Can’t wait to see her reaction to this … Happy Birthday Ridhima!

Whose birthday is it next then? 😀

Does it sing a song? :D

Just finished baking this music-themed birthday cake for a friend’s daughter who turns 11. The instructions from the birthday girl were simple .. “I don’t want a girly cake!” .. 😀 … Well, hope this is grown up enough for you Hiba! As for whether it sings a song? Well, we’ll just have to wait and see 😉 … Ahh, I love birthdays!

A simple weekend cake!

Looking for a simple cake recipe for the weekend? Then you should try out this Chocolate Chip Cake I baked yesterday. I made the most of whatever ingredients I had available at home, but to help your cake stand out more, I would suggest you use white chocolate curls as well as the dark one to help the cake decor stand out more. Plus, you will have enough icing left to pipe around the bottom of the cake as well to give it a complete look. Unfortunately I was out of piping bag yesterday, so couldn’t really work much on the look of the cake … oh well, it tasted good enough to share with all of you regardless of the look! Time to go do some baking shopping now …. Have a fun weekend everyone! 🙂

Is it tea-time yet?

Someone put the kettle on as Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting is ready!! This cake actually taste pretty good on its own without the frosting as well …but as I had baked this for a good friend of mine, therefore had to make a bit of an effort! 🙂 Making the fondant carrots was such good fun though .. so do try it out! Enough said, time to stare at it some more and then have it delivered .. sniff sniff! 🙂
