I love surprises! And if it’s a birthday surprise, then even better …. So that’s exactly what I did to surprise my friends 9 year old by baking a Chocolate Oreo Cake as a birthday treat! Doesn’t one big smile at the end of a hard days work make it all worth it? :)<3 … Will add the recipe for this soon … For now, I need to go for a long walk as I feel like i gained calories just by looking at and sniffing this cake! 😀 ….
As Dubai weather continues to play games with us (sometimes hot, sometimes cold), thought it was time to bake something similar! So what you think looks like ice cream is actually cupcakes with frosting made to look like an ice cream cone! Pretty cool idea eh?
This is a great baking activity to get your kids involved in before hols end. Place ice cream cones in a muffin tray. Pour the cupcake batter a lil more than half full (don’t get carried away as it will overflow then). Bake in your pre-heated oven at 175 degrees for 12-15 mins. Once baked, make a small slit at the base of the cone to let the steam escape. This will prevent your cone from going soggy. Once cooled, add frosting or topping of your choice!
I love birthdays! Baked this pink themed birthday cake for my friend who happens to love hearts! Can’t wait until she cuts it to discover the cake is pink too …. I was strictly warned not to add any numbers on the cake to disclose the age, so I thought I’d be a lil’sneaky and just add the same number of hearts instead … you’re not going to start counting now and get me into trouble, are you?? :p
It has been a busy month for The Bakealogue with one birthday after the other … and I’m loving it! Yesterday was a fun day as I was asked to host a birthday party for Areeba who turned 11. The activities for the day included baking a Zebra cake, chocolate chip cookies, decorating cups, and lots of fun games! Here’s a sneak peak into all the fun… To view the full album, please visit my ‘Baking Events‘ section on The Bakealogue …. Time to put my feet up now and relax with a cuppa!
My favourite Cafe ‘Book Munch’ is celebrating its 2nd birthday this week .. so I thought why not bake them cupcakes to mark the occasion! Book-themed cupcakes seemed like the most appropriate choice as that’s what Book Munch is all about …
If you haven’t been to Book Munch yet, then make sure you read my ‘Cake Spy’ section as I wrote a review on them a few months ago … It has gotten even better since then and bagged plenty of awards!
Happy Birthday Book Munch! 🙂
The Bakealogue loves going an extra mile for birthdays! So today was dedicated baking this ‘Glitzy Tiffany Box’ cake for my classy friend to make her birthday extra-special. Tiffany Box cakes are usually about pearls, but I decided to give it the extra bling bling factor as that is what Dubai is all about :)… It was one loooong day but oh so worth it!
Happy Birthday Tehniyat … fingers crossed it stays this way by the time it reaches you tomorrow!
